TDA - Week 16

Today was the first time that i received acclaim for a long study from my teacher. It is the first piece, a 3 hour study, which I couldn't scan due to its size, so I took a crappy photo of it.

This week was full of short 20 min studies, and the longest ones, which were 80 min. It's a real pain in the @ss to scan all these, due to their size.

Next week we're going to have Glenn Vilppu! How cool is that??? I've seen his videos, and he is a master of classical drawing!
I'm so excited!!!

I apologize for some cut feet or hands, but the paper is large and it's difficult to scan the drawings.

Note: Started organizing this blog, due to the bulk piling up (I've reached 200 drawings!). I have put label links on the side, and I started putting labels on each post, and hopefully the blog is more interesting and fun to watch like this.

TDA - Week 15

Even though it's the 16th week now, here are some things from the previous week that I was too lazy to scan before. The first is a long study (i think 5 hrs) and the others are 15 min studies.

TDA - Week 14

First I have a storyboard excercise we did with some friends, to prepare for the exams for the Bachelor in Character Animation here in Viborg. We picked two words, baseball bat and throwing away, and we had to come up with a short story.

I hope it's readable. Enjoy!

And the more boring stuff here. A sewing machine that reminds me of my granny, but I couldn't get to finish it. Also a decent croquis from Thursday's session. Pfff, been a long time since I last drew croquis...
I also have one more long study of an electric screwing driver, but due to it's size I couldn't get to scan it properly. I'll give it one more try and hope it works, because it went out pretty nicely I think!

TDA - Week 13

Last and this week we have a guest teacher, Jeppe, how teaches construction with basic shapes. This probably we should have done at the start. Anyway, it's always good to review basic techniques.

On Thursday I flew to Paris, and on Friday i took the exams for Gobelins, l'ecole de l'image, for the 3 year animation programme "Concepteur et réalisateur de films d'animation". There were some 600 participants...Insane!!!
To be honest, I don't think I have a lot of chances to get in, and I will need a miracle to get to the interview... There is a lot of talent waiting to get in the school. I still have a lot to learn, but it was nevertheless a great experience!!
Now I can understand why it is considered one of the best animation schools in the world.

Anyway, here are some construction sketches from last week. The first one is a really awesome blue old car, which is not the best construction wise, and i'm looking forward to sketch it again, more detailed!:
